They sent me a message today saying that my money is being refunded ahead of time, and made it sound like they were doing me a favor... sigh....

I'll post a retraction of my complaints about the refunds if I get it in the next few days...

But my complaints about their customer service still stands... It was impossible to "get through to a real person" for billing...

I think you will really like Slcehost. In all honesty, after being with quite a few companies over the years, like Slicehost better than all of them combined. Their prices are very competitive, their simplicity and ease of administration is excellent and quality of service/support in all areas is impeccable.

I am considering Zimbra, but the system requirements seem a bit steep. I cannot justify, at this point, getting a 1gb Slice just to run a mail server on top of the 2 Slices (512 & 256mb) that I have now. I use my 512mb one for this site and ~22 other blogs and websites. The 256mb one is more of a sandbox for development and "staging" sites that I am working on before moving them to the 512.

Hi Dude,

I found your site doing some searches about Slicehost, trying to see if I should move all my projects there. Anyway, I have been using the Zimbra Open Source email server for over a year and it works great. I think they have a paid solution also that is inexpensive. Anyway you can check it out if you want:

Got a second 256mb slice for personal development before placing it on the primary server... It is running an almost identical configuration except that the development server is running Lighttpd instead of Apache. Everything else is the same.
